Prime Video has announced the premiere date for its Alex Cross series Cross.

All eight episodes of the first season will debut on the platform on Thursday, November 14th.

It’s “brilliant, flawed and full of contradictions,” notes Prime Video. “Cross is a loving father and family man, and his pursuit of killers is single-minded to the point of obsession. He desperately wants love, but his wife’s murder has left him too wounded to receive it.”

Also appearing in the first season of the series is Ryan Eggold (New Amsterdam), Isaiah Mustafa (Shadowhunters), Alona Tal (Marine Special Forces), Johnny Ray Gill (Underground), Juanita Jennings (star), Samantha Walkes (Murdoch crime novels), Jennifer Wigmore (Malory Towers), Eloise Mumford (Chicago Fire) and the child actresses Melody Hurd (THEM) and Caleb Elijah.

The show has Jeanine Mason (Roswell, New Mexico), Matthew Lillard (Good girls) and Wes Chatham (Ahsoka) for season 2. Executive producers Jim Dunn and Sam Ernst are promoted to co-showrunners alongside Watkins for the second season.

“Bringing one of James Patterson’s most famous literary characters to life for our Prime Video customers worldwide has been a dream come true and we can’t wait for everyone to see Aldis Hodges’ dynamic portrayal of Cross,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, in a statement.

It continues: “Ben Watkins and his team have created something unique in the crime genre that will appeal to long-time fans and newcomers alike. And since Patterson has written over 30 novels featuring Alex Cross as the main protagonist, it was an easy decision to bring Cross back for a second season.”
