NFL training camp is upon us and once it starts, many players’ fantasy values will change drastically. This could be due to outstanding or poor performance, unexpected opportunities, or just the excitement of the media and coaches. The value of these players will only skyrocket from here on out. No matter what format you play in, find a way to add these players to your roster now because their price will never be lower. Here we’ll focus on the running backs.

Los Angeles Chargers

All of the running backs in this article are very young except for one. That’s Edwards. Over the course of the next month or two, it will become clear that he will serve as the RB1 for the Chargers in an offense that is expected to be very run-heavy.

He landed in a familiar system where he has a lot of success. While he’s not a sexy name, he’s always effective on the field. Once people realize that volume is inevitable, his value will take a big jump.

Currently, Edwards is being drafted as a fringe RB3 prospect in the mid-to-late RB30s. He is expected to secure the RB28-30 spot by mid-August.

Cincinnati Bengals

Fantasy owners aren’t entirely sold on him, who is considered a surefire RB1 for the Bengals this year after his breakout season with the Indianapolis Colts in 2023. However, Brown is one of the most electrifying young running backs in the league, and the advanced metrics back that up.

It won’t take long for fantasy owners to realize that this will be a much larger committee than initially expected and that Brown has much more potential for big plays and PPR. The backfield will ultimately be viewed very similarly to the Miami Dolphins backfield with and. While everyone knows Mostert led the league in TDs last season and will again have the most volume, the dynamic young Achane will be viewed as a low-end RB1 and Mostert as a high-end flex option.

According to the current consensus rankings, Moss is the RB27 and Brown is the RB40. It is safe to assume that Brown will ultimately be drafted as the RB3 among the top 35 RBs.

New Orleans Saints

masked his ineffectiveness on the ground last season with incredible volume in the air. Still, his time in New Orleans is coming to an end and soon people will notice that Miller is the likely successor at the running back position.

At some point in August, it will become clear that Miller will be doing most of the work on early downs this season, playing a major role in short yardage and at the goal line, and Kamara will be viewed more as a pure pass catcher than ever before.

Injuries derailed Miller’s 2023 season, but he was the third-best back in his draft class and would be the best running back in this year’s draft. His hype will grow quickly and it’s well-deserved. He’s the back-to-own in New Orleans this season, especially in the standard leagues. This is a prospect we backed in the draft last year, and he could be a league-winning guy and shooting star.

Tennessee Titans

is the new exciting name in Tennessee, but he proved last year that he is not built to be the only man in the backfield. It will be clear very early in camp that this is a full-fledged team in Tennessee. Not only that, but Spears will have the more valuable touches in the air and near the end zone.

There’s a real chance Spears will prove to be the better running back this summer as well. Regardless, it will be a split backfield, but Spears could show in the preseason that he’s the better running back in all areas of the game.

Pollard is currently ranked as RB26 and Spears as RB34. Those rankings could completely change this summer. Also, don’t be surprised if Spears ends up as the top fantasy option.

Carolina Panthers

It was surprising that Brooks is currently rated as RB32. He is the best running back in this draft with a clear path to RB1 volume. The downside to him is simply that he is in a bad offense.

Fantasy owners can no longer resist the top rookie running back who could achieve peak volume. It’s not unrealistic to think he’ll move up to the RB2 range sooner or later. His current value is unreasonably low and the market will correct itself. This offense should improve even if it’s not good yet, and don’t pass up on such a talent just because you’re afraid of it.
