Extraction 2 viewers discover ‘ridiculous’ mistake in Chris Hemsworth’s sequel

Attentive Netflix viewers have noticed a hilarious mistake in the new action thriller Extraction 2.

The film, a sequel to the 2020 Chris Hemsworth film extractionwas released on the streaming service last Friday (June 16).

In Extraction 2, Hemsworth once again takes on the role of experienced mercenary Tyler Rakes, whose task is to rescue a woman and two children from a state-of-the-art prison facility.

The sequel received better reviews than the first film, despite audiences complaining about one particular element. However, the film has now also been mocked on social media after a clip was shared highlighting an unfortunate filming error.

In the footage, which begins about 45 minutes into the scene, Hemsworth’s character is seen engaging in a firefight with an enemy helicopter.

To avoid being shot, Rakes takes cover behind a ladder – which offers virtually no barrier between his body and the incoming bullets.

“I am watching Extraction 2 and Chris Hemsworth just took cover behind a ladder,” one person wrote, sharing a clip of the moment on Twitter.

Others reacted with amusement to the inappropriate scene and left comments on social media.

“It worked, right?” joked one, while another described the moment as “ridiculous.”

“He’s taking measures to protect himself,” joked another, while someone else noted, “Everyone knows that hiding behind a ladder is bad luck.”

Irish comedian Dara Ó Briain joked: “It would work because the wavelength of the bullets is longer than the gaps in the conductors. You need a minigun for helicopters, whose bullets have a shorter wavelength.”

Others compared the moment to that of a video game.

“This is the best video game mechanic. Ladders are solid (if partially invisible) objects in many games,” one person wrote. “This and the Rocky-inspired rehab montage made me laugh quite a bit.”

“The writer, director and producer all seem to play too many FPS games,” another hypothesized.

“I watched this last night and thought it was a really long cutscene from a game like Far away“Please tell me I’m not the only one,” said another.

Extraction 2 is now available to stream on Netflix.
