Video for “Caped Crusader” reveals cast and new Batman voice actor

The first teaser trailer for Batman: The Masked Crusader has been released, revealing the cast of voice actors for the animated series as well as the star who will next voice the titular Caped Crusader.

The upcoming animated series is scheduled to be released on Prime Video on August 1st and comes from executive producers Bruce Timm (“Batman: The Animated Series”), JJ Abrams (“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”) and Matt Reeves (“The Penguin”).

The synopsis for Batman: Caped Crusader reads: “An all-new animated series and a reimagining of the Batman mythology. Utilizing cutting-edge animation techniques, this powerful creative partnership will once again reinvent the character and his iconic rogues gallery with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters and intense action sequences, all set in a visually stunning world.”

Who is in the voice cast of Batman: Caped Crusader?

The heroes and villains in Batman: Caped Crusader have already been revealed. Midnight Mass actor Hamish Linklater lends his voice to the titular Dark Knight. In as yet unknown roles, McKenna Grace (Young Sheldon), Toby Stephens (Black Sails), Reid Scott (Veep), Dan Donohue (Magazine Dreams), Gary Anthony Williams (The Boondocks), Jason Watkins (McDonald & Dodds), John DiMaggio (Adventure Time), Krystal Joy Brown (Heaven Down Here), Michelle C. Bonilla (Slip Away), Eric Morgan Stuart (Reality Bites), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting), Diedrich Bader (American Housewife), Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch) and Christina Ricci (The Addams Family) will appear.

Although it has not been announced yet, Vanity Fair reported that Bader will voice Two-Face, while Chung will play Harley Quinn and Ricci will play Catwoman. Batman: Caped Crusader is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, 6th & Idaho and Bad Robot Productions. Greg Rucka, Ed Brubaker and Bob Kane are the writers of the animated series.

The premiere of the new animated series is scheduled for August 1st. All ten episodes will then be released simultaneously.
