AI turns Family Guy into a live-action 1980s sitcom and the results are scary

With the explosion of artificial intelligence, many people have used the new technology to recreate their favorite shows in a completely different style.

A popular form of this is to adapt popular cartoons into a live-action show – although they are, of course, technically still animated.

Many popular TV shows have been edited with AI in recent months, including Futurama And The simpsonswhich, after the AI treatment, look – let’s say – extremely different.

As is often the case with AI-generated pieces of this kind, the results are both hilarious and terrifying.

In this case, the AI generator was instructed to create a version of family Guy as a sitcom from the 1980s.

The video is structured like a trailer for a 1980s sitcom and includes a shot of the Griffins’ house before showing what each of the main characters looks like.

Of course, one of the main factors in converting a cartoon into a “live-action” AI image is that cartoons are often highly stylized caricatures of people.

This may result in some AI-generated images of people with interesting characteristics.

Of particular note is the infamous giant chicken, which often poses a threat to Peter Griffin as the two clash in increasingly outlandish fistfights.

In this version, however, the “chicken” looks like a nightmarish combination of Donald Duck and Jabba the Hutt.

You may also have concerns about the interpretation of the minor Bond villain Stewie.

In the cartoon, Stewie is known for his distinctive rugby ball-shaped head, which might have been interesting in an AI-generated “live” version.

But it turns out that Stewie and the liberal dog Brian were instead simply interpreted as a blonde baby and a somewhat sad-looking golden Labrador.

And some fans of the hit cartoon series shared how incredibly similar Stewie and Brian looked in one part of the episode The path to the multiverse.

One wrote: “I love that Brian and Stewie look exactly like they did when they had to travel through different timelines and ended up as live-action movies.”

Another posted: “Brian and Stewie look exactly like they did in the Multiverse episode where they get transported to the real dimension.”

Viewers are also introduced to the main cast, including Peter, Lois, Meg and Chris, as well as supporting characters such as Cleveland Brown, Glenn Quagmire and Joe Swanson.

And fans shared their thoughts in the comments – many found the video to be a kind of “bizarre window into another reality.”

One wrote: “It’s really creepy and kind of scary that AI does something like this… it looks incredibly realistic.”

Another said: “It’s frightening how much sense these realistic counterpoints make.”

A third said the effects were “perfect,” adding that Quagmire and Joe looked “exactly” as they imagined they would as real people. Another said the AI ”got Chris spot on” as he looked exactly as they imagined he would as a “living person.”

Others said they would actually like to see a sitcom version of the show, with one saying, “I actually want to see this unironically as an ’80s sitcom.”

“You have no idea how much I would devour this show,” agreed another.
