Brian Dowling and Arthur announce Blu’s famous godfathers

Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian have announced who will sponsor their newborn daughter.

The couple announced that celebrity chef Donal Skehan will act as the baby’s godfather, while the Big Brother star’s sister, Aoife, will be her godmother.

The couple welcomed their second child, Blu Amar Rose, on Tuesday, June 25, with the help of Aoife, who once again acted as a surrogate after previously doing so for the birth of their daughter Blake in September 2022.

Brian wrote: “The votes have been counted and verified by an independent verifier. @gourounlian and I are ABSOLUTELY delighted that @effidy_dowling_ has agreed to be Blu’s godmother and @donalskehan has agreed to take on the role of godfather.”

“We LOVE Aoife and Donal. They will make an AMAZING sponsor couple and provide Blu with so much love, support and of course a little pampering too,” he continued.

“In fact, they’re going to give @pipsy_pie and @simonjonespr some serious competition for sponsorship,” Brian teased Pippa O’Connor and Simon Jones, who are loving godparents to their daughter Blake.

Pippa jokingly replied in the comments: “Godfather wars!!!”

“Arthur (and) I are TRULY BLESSED as far as having godparents for both of our daughters, but also the love and encouragement we receive from all of our family and friends is priceless. It really takes a village, folks,” Brian concluded.

He shared the sweet message alongside adorable snaps of Blu’s newly appointed godparents posing with her. Both Aoife and Donal wore light blue clothing as they held the little girl, who already has a full head of thick black hair.

The couple has a close friendship with TV chef Donal, who has two children with his wife Sofie Larsson.

The couple are also very close to Brian’s sister Aoife, who carried both daughters.
