The famous Red Arrows return to Southend Airport tomorrow

The iconic Red Arrows are expected to return to Southend Airport tomorrow for another display after delighting local residents last week.

Crowds gathered around the airport on Sunday to see the famous red-painted Hawk jets on display as the flight demonstration team took part in the Folkestone Armed Forces Day event.

Aircraft spotters were thrilled as the Red Arrows landed and took off in formation at Southend Airport.

However, fans who missed the RAF planes still have another chance to see them soaring over the city, according to the Echo, as they are expected to return to Southend Airport tomorrow.

The Arrows will mark the anniversary of the Battle of Britain with spectacular flying displays at Headcorn Airfield on Friday 5 July, and the airport in south Essex will host them during their participation.

They are expected to land at Southend Airport tomorrow (July 5) at 10:16am, before departing for the show at 12:47pm and returning to the airport at 1:38pm.

They then leave again at 4 p.m. so that residents have enough time to visit them.

The team’s pilots and engineers later told their fascinating stories to Prowse’s guests and workers as they enjoyed dinner at the popular restaurant above Westcliff Arches.

Previously, the airport was the venue for the famous RAF and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight aircraft taking part in the Eastbourne Airshow over the past two summers.
