Batman: Caped Crusader announces voice cast, including Midnight Mass star as Dark Knight

Prime Video on Thursday announced the cast for its upcoming DC animated series Batman: Caped Crusader, including the voice of the title hero.

An X/Twitter video uploaded by the official Prime Video account revealed that Midnight Mass star Hamish Linklater will play Batman in the animated series. Although the cast release trailer, narrated by Linklater, mentioned the names of the actors starring in the series, the roles of his co-stars were not mentioned.

Fortunately, Prime Video has announced some roles for popular DC characters in a press release. Some of the most notable include Christina Ricci as Catwoman, Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn and Diedrich Bader as Two-Face.

Batman: Caped Crusader, created by producers JJ Abrams, Bruce Timm and Matt Reeves, has undergone a turbulent development. One year after its announcement WB Discovery has canceled the series in 2022with cost-cutting measures cited as the cause. This in turn led to the show being offered by Netflix, Apple and Hulu before Prime Video has officially picked up the series for two seasons in 2023.

According to a previously released press release, the series will use “cutting-edge animation techniques” to “reinvent the character and his criminal gallery with sophisticated storytelling, nuanced characters and intense action sequences, all set in a visually stunning world.”
