AI-modified Taylor Swift and Zuckerberg appear in Elder Scrolls Oblivion video, while Fallout London appears to be coming soon

Whatever you think of AI, the massive computing power it requires, and its impact on the planet, sometimes it can be justified. Today is one such time. AI modifications by Taylor Swift, Mark Zuckerberg, and Kanye West with Bethesda’s 2006 Skyrim predecessor Oblivion must be worth shortening the lifespan of planet Earth by a few years.

A video by IRL Loading Screens, an account that parodies Bethesda’s loading screens, which are usually chock-full of high-sounding advice while some buggy but amazing monstrosity loads in the background, has posted a video that uses AI to overlay celebrity renderings over Oblivion’s NPCs and offer their own celebrity advice. Sometimes people just have too much time on their hands. You can watch the video for yourself below.

Fallout London is ready to launch

Meanwhile, it looks like we’ll be getting Team Folon’s Fallout 4 total conversion, Fallout London, soon (finally), after repeated delays due to Bethesda being a pesky company in releasing Starfield first and then the next-gen version of Fallout 4.

In a post, the mod developers said:

“There has been a lot of speculation regarding our upcoming release and we wanted to open up and provide clarity to our key backers. The bottom line is that we have sent multiple builds to GOG for QA and are now waiting for the final green light. Once they have completed the process of double-checking that Fallout London and its installer work on all supported machines, we should be good to go. (Yes, we have our own installer and a downgrader too!) It is in all of our best interests that this final QA process is fully completed and we are very grateful that GOG is helping us with this.”

So it seems like we’re on the final leg of the journey. You’ll need Fallout 4 and its DLCs to travel to a completely reimagined London, but as you can see in the video below, it will definitely be worth it.
