Generous Akshay Kumar supports crisis-ridden singer Glory Bawa
Mumbai: In a heartwarming act of generosity, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar came to the aid of Punjabi singer Glory Bawa, who was facing financial difficulties and sought help from the government through social media. The actor sent her Rs 2.5 million, a gesture that was widely appreciated and brought relief to Glory and her family.
As reported by Hindustan Times, Glory Bawa expressed her immense gratitude to Akshay Kumar. She said, “I don’t have words to express what it means to me.” She also mentioned that the financial support would help her and her family a lot. However, Glory stressed her desire to work and said, “But I want work and I have asked for it. People have started reaching out to me and I hope that artists like us will find something meaningful to do.”
Akshay Kumar revealed that he came to know about Glory’s financial difficulties through social media. The situation moved him deeply and he decided to help her. “It was disheartening to see the family of Gurmeet Bawa, the pride of Punjab, suffering financial problems. It is a gesture of love towards their daughter Glory Bawa like a brother. This is not help but fulfillment of my responsibility as a Punjabi and an artist,” said the actor.

In addition to Akshay Kumar’s help, Punjab Minister for Administrative Reforms and NRI Affairs Kuldeep Dhaliwal also extended support. He visited Glory’s house and presented her with a cheque for Rs 100,000 as assistance. This collective support has brought much-needed relief to Glory and highlighted the importance of community and solidarity.
Glory Bawa is the daughter of famous Punjabi folk singer and Padma Bhushan awardee Gurmeet Bawa. Despite her illustrious lineage, Glory has faced significant financial challenges.
