Gantz: “We must support those who fought on October 7

MK Benny Gantz published a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday about the case in which civilians were suspected of killing a Nukhba terrorist on October 7.

“October 7 was the most devastating day in the country’s history. On that day, many heroes rose up – soldiers, riot police, police officers and civilians – who fought bravely and many of whom fell in battle.

“The evidence regarding the citizens arrested on suspicion of unlawful killing of terrorists is not in my hands, and I trust the law enforcement authorities. Moreover, it is important to say at a fundamental level: everyone who dared to cross the border that day was sentenced to death. They all posed a clear and immediate danger,” Gantz reiterated.

“We must remember that there were many weapons in the area and that some of the terrorists also acted as drivers who kidnapped civilians,” Gantz continued.

“That is why, in this situation of chaos, surprise and hours of guerrilla fighting, we must back the fighters – soldiers, police and citizens – and fully support them. This is our duty to those who saved lives and protected our country, and I am convinced that the law enforcement authorities will also act in this spirit,” Gantz concluded.
