Spoilers for “Neighbours” follow.

“Neighbours” has found a new love interest for Aaron Brennan and a trailer announces the arrival of new character Logan.

Viewers know that Aaron tragically lost her husband, David Tanaka, earlier this year when he died in a cliff fall. In the months that followed, Aaron struggled with substance abuse.

However, a new preview of upcoming episodes suggests that things could take a turn for Aaron when he meets Logan (Matthew Backer).

“I can’t imagine what you went through when you lost your partner,” Logan says to Aaron as the two go running together.

Backer confirmed his casting in the comments on the Neighbours Instagram post, and one fan shared his joy that Aaron has a love interest.

“Thanks so much mate!!,” he replied, before referring to his connection with David actor Takaya Honda after both appeared in Play School: “Aaron clearly has a thing for Play School presenters.”

Responding to another fan, he added: “Ramsey St welcomed me with open arms… followed by a fair amount of suspicion.”

The trailer also gives a taste of other storylines, including a possible connection between Haz’s sister Amira and Nicolette, as well as a first look at the arrival of Byron and Nicolette’s father Victor and a poisoning drama.

Honda previously announced Digital Spy that he would love for his on-screen husband to find love again after David’s death.

“David loves Aaron too much to want Aaron to spend the rest of his life lonely and sad just because David died (…) He really wants Aaron to move on,” he said.

“I don’t know how quickly Aaron should move on, but it’s Neighbours, so it might take a week or two – I don’t know!”

Neighbors releases new episodes Monday to Thursday for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs Monday to Thursday at 4pm on Channel 10, with a repeat at 6.30pm on 10 Peach.
