Wimbledon 2024, playing order day 7: Alcaraz and Sinner ready for the 4th round

Day 7 of Wimbledon 2024 will feature several big names in action when defending champion and third seed Carlos Alcaraz takes on 16th seed Frenchman Ugo Humbert in the Men’s Singles Round of 16 at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) in London on Sunday 7 July.

French Open winner Alcaraz had to fight back against Frances Tiafoe in the third round as the Spaniard won the fourth set in a tiebreak before claiming a convincing victory in the fifth set. He will face tough opposition from Humbert, who comes into the match having defeated Brandon Nakashima in four hard-fought sets.

World number one Janik Sinner will face fourth-seeded American Ben Shelton in his fourth-round match, while fifth-seeded Daniil Medvedev will face tenth-seeded Grigor Dimitrov.

Sinner had some difficulties in the first two rounds, dropping a set in each, but he later sailed through the third round with a straight sets win over Miomir Kecmanovic. Shelton, on the other hand, was pushed to a fifth set in each round and will look to gain confidence from his ability to thrive under pressure.

In the women’s singles, number two seed Coco Gauff will face 19^th seeded Emma Navarro. Gauff has reached the fourth round at Wimbledon twice, but he never managed to move forwardHowever, the 20-year-old seems to be in good form this year, having won three sets in a row.

On the other hand, French Open finalist Jasmine Paolini will face 12th seed Madison Keys.
