Crowne Plaza cancels DaddyLand events and expels participants from the hotel

Management at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Dallas, the host hotel for the Dallas Circuit Party of the 2024 DaddyLand Festival, had canceled all other DaddyLand events scheduled at the hotel and notified attendees who were guests of the Crowne Plaza that they must vacate the hotel by 6 p.m.

Organizers have since posted messages on social media indicating that only events scheduled at the hotel have been cancelled, while all other events at other venues will go ahead as planned.

The article reads:

“The host hotel has notified DaddyLand Festival – Dallas 2024 that the remaining events will be cancelled due to complaints from guests not attending the festival. During negotiations to rectify the situation and offer to add additional security and provide more accommodations to guests staying at the hotel, the owner showed disrespect to the team, their party guests and parts of our community. While we stand up for the many and the actions of the few, the owner refused to listen to reason and made the decision to evict all attendees of our events without notice. We are committed to making this right for those affected.
“For now, the remaining events of the 2024 Daddyland Festival will continue as planned, with the exception of the after-hour events at this year’s host hotel.
“Guests who purchased individual tickets for after-hours events will receive a refund. Guests who purchased weekend tickets that include after-hours events are working on a solution to reschedule the two remaining events that were canceled outside of our control.
“Please note that many of the reasons given are untrue. As we continue with the remaining events, we are grateful for the support of our community.”

The notice for hotel guests staying at the Crowne Plaza during the DaddyLand Festival was printed on paper with the Crowne Plaza logo and read:

“TAKE A MOMENT…
“DADDYLAND GROUP PARTICIPANTS
“We are sorry it didn’t work out… The OWNER OF THE HOTEL is requesting that you leave the hotel IMMEDIATELY.”
“For Saturday, July 6, 2024 and Sunday, July 7, 2024 you will receive a refund – Please move out BY 6 PM.”
“All parties and events are cancelled
“SATURDAY, 6.7., SUNDAY, 7.7. and MONDAY, 8.7..”

According to a September 11, 2009 press release on the IHG Hotels and Resorts website announcing the opening of the Crowne Plaza Dallas Downtown as the fifth Crowne Plaza hotel in Dallas, “The Crowne Plaza Dallas Downtown is owned by Terry and Patty Tognazzini and managed by Tog Hotels Downtown Dallas LLC under a licensing agreement with an InterContinental Hotels Group company.” This information may be out of date, but the Dallas Voice has not been able to find more current information online.

Dallas Voice reached out to Crowne Plaza Dallas Downtown management by phone and email and to DaddyLand event producer Daddy Ersin via Facebook Messenger. We will update this post with more information as it becomes available.
