Songs we need in EA Sports “College Football 25”

Music plays a key role in the mystique of college football. Before the turn of the millennium, it was the band that provided the soundtrack for fans on fall Saturdays. But over the past 20 years, things have changed. Spectators are interacting more with popular songs over the PA system, creating viral sensations. Below are the songs that must be included in EA Sports College Football 25.

Take Me Home, Country Roads – John Denver (West Virginia)

West Virginia fans learn this song before they even start kindergarten. After every win, the Mountaineers celebrate with this John Denver classic.

Enter Sandman – Metallica (Virginia Tech)

It’s sad that reports say “Enter Sandman” will not be in the game, one of the most electrifying performances in all of college football.

Jumping Around – House of Pain (Wisconsin)

At the start of the fourth quarter, there is chaos at Camp Randall Stadium as “House of Pain” blares from the speakers.

Sweet Caroline – Neil Diamond (Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia)

Pitt and Penn State have both capitalized on the success of “Sweet Caroline” at Fenway, incorporating it into their game day rituals. West Virginia uses it as a means to… well, hear it for yourself.

Zombie Nation (Stadium Chant) – Kenkraft 400 (Penn State and UCF)

Penn State began using Zombie Nation around 2005 and developed it further by including a “We Are Penn State” chant in the middle. UCF adopted the song and made it a staple of “The Bounce House.”

Mo Bamba – Sheck Wes

“Mo Bamba” became the stadium anthem almost immediately, but it was best used when the Penn State crowd forced Michigan to take a timeout on the first play of the game.

Sandstorm – Darude (South Carolina)

The Gamecock fraternity goes wild when “Sandstorm” comes on. Add in a few “USC” chants and it’s perfect.

I will not give in – Tom Petty (Florida)

When Gainesville native and music legend Tom Petty died, the University of Florida decided to honor him by playing “Wont Back Down” during a football game. The crowd joined in, and the song has been played ever since.

Mr. Brightside – The Killers and Pump It Up – Danzel (Michigan)

These two are relatively new. One is an early 2000s classic and the other is an obscure techno dance jam. Both get The Big House going.

Dixieland Delight – Alabama (Alabama)

One could argue that the lyrics are actually about Tennessee. That’s a topic for another blog. “Dixieland Delight” under the Tuscaloosa night sky is mesmerizing.

Swag Surfin – FLY (Auburn)

This gives all student associations in the south a boost.

Calling Baton Rouge – Garth Brooks (LSU)

“Calling Baton Rouge” is more of a pre-game sing-along, but it deserves its place in the game.

Greetings – Isley Brothers (Oregon)

The movie Animal House was filmed on Oregon’s campus, and what better way to honor the film than to set it at Autzen Zoo?

Thunderstruck – AC/DC (Nebraska)

Sold out crowd, guitar riff, light show. Absolute fire!

Seven Nation Army – The White Stripes (literally everyone)

Little did Jack White know that in 2003 he had created a stadium anthem, “Seven Nation Army.” It is played in every stadium across the country and should be included on College Football 25.
