Prime Video sets premiere date for new crime series by Aldis Hodge

Amazon has finally announced the date for the upcoming series Crossa crime novel based on James Patterson’s Alex Cross Novels. The show’s premiere comes four years after the project was first announced in 2020.




On social media, Amazon unveiled an official poster for Crosswhich will be released as a streaming release for Prime Video. It includes an image of lead actor Aldis Hodge in the role of Alex Cross, the protagonist of the original books, with crime scene tape highlighting the name of the series. The poster also reveals that the adaptation official premiere on November 14, 2024. Check out the poster below.

One of Jason Statham’s best films is now on Prime Video

One of the best films starring action icon Jason Statham is now streaming.


The series, which was renewed for a second season months before its premiere on Prime Video, follows Hodge’s Cross, who is described as “a detective and forensic psychologist with the unique ability to penetrate the psyches of murderers and their victims in order to identify – and ultimately catch – the killers.”

The series is a collaboration between Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television. It was developed by Ben Watkins, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn and Craig Siebels, and James Patterson, Bill Robinson and Patrick Santa of James Patterson Entertainment. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost of Skydance Television also serve as executive producers.

Cross Also starring are Johnny Ray Gill, Isaiah Mustafa, Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford and Ryan Eggold. New cast members who will appear in the second season are Wes Chatham, Matthew Lillard and Jeanine Mason.


Morgan Freeman and Tyler Perry played Alex Cross

Hodges’ portrayal of Alex Cross follows other actors who have tried their hand at three feature films. Morgan Freeman played the role in the 1997 film Kiss the girls together with the sequel of 2001 Then came a spiderIn 2012, Tyler Perry took over the role for a film simply called Alex CrossThere were tentative plans to make more films starring Perry, but the film was not as successful at the box office as hoped, so any plans for a sequel were scrapped.


“Generally, the audience of the books is a little older and wealthier — at least the hardbacks — and with Amazon, it was kind of different and kind of more realistic about the positive and negative aspects of policing in our society today,” author James Patterson said of what will be different about this new adaptation. “So, I like how it turned out. I’m sure some people will say, ‘Oh, well, Patterson probably doesn’t like the show.’ I Do I like the series, I think it’s pretty good.”

Cross will premiere on Prime Video on November 14, 2024.
