Monroeville singer performs at female-run Babesburgh on the North Shore

A singer-songwriter from Monroeville will be among the headline acts at the first-ever Babesburgh Festival on Pittsburgh’s North Shore.

Gabrielle Fike, 22, will perform at 4 p.m. at the June 29 festival, which will feature women-owned or women-run breweries, artists, farmers, naturopaths, performers and more.

“This will be the biggest stage I’ve ever performed on,” said Fike, a Franklin native who recently performed as part of the Pittsburgh Pride celebrations on May 31.

Fike has been building her professional career for three years, but has been singing and writing her own songs since elementary school.

“I started writing when I was 12 or 13 and released my first song in 2021,” she said. “I’m still figuring out what kind of music I play. I’m kind of a very laid back, mellow pop singer.”

Cat Bruno, founder and executive director of Babesburgh, said the five-hour festival at Allegheny Landing Park will feature beer, wine and local cocktails, shopping, health screenings, wellness exhibits, meditation sessions and a variety of fitness classes, including yoga and boxing.

In addition to the performers, Babesburgh will also feature works by local artists and live art performances. For a full list of participants, visit Babesburgh.com.

“This is an exciting and unique opportunity for women to enjoy a day where their needs are the focus, support other women and, most importantly, have fun,” Bruno said.

Fike said she couldn’t wait to get on stage.

“The pride factor was pretty big, but I’m really excited to be in an environment where I get to connect with other talented and passionate women,” she said. “That sounds like my kind of people.”

Fike will play a half-hour set that includes two new original songs she has been working on.

She will also share the stage with DJ Madame Trio, DJ Femi, a community drum circle and a music therapy program.

Tickets are $20-$39. For more information, visit Babesburgh.com.
