Elijah Blake wants “company” for his new song

Elijah Blake is back with his new single “Company” from his upcoming album of the same name, Elias.

“Company,” produced by Cmillz, shows Blake’s longing for comfort from a special person.

“You know what I need / You know I can’t breathe / I want you to stay here with me / And have some company, baby,” he sings.

“Company” follows “Sugarwater & Lime” and “Ghostbuster”. All three songs appear on Elias.which will be released on August 2nd via MNRK Records.

“With ‘Ghostbuster’ I wanted to create an aural and visual journey that pushes boundaries and allows listeners to immerse themselves in an unforgettable, beautiful experience,” Blake explained. “It’s a blend of my musical roots with a modern twist and I’m excited to share this artistic expression with the world.”

Speaking exclusively to Rated R&B about “Sugarwater & Lime,” Blake said, “Whenever I try to explain how I feel but can’t find the words, I often resort to an analogy, and that’s the heart of this song. It’s about entering into a relationship without having the ingredients to fully satisfy the other person’s palate. In hindsight, the only way I can describe heartbreak in the past is like trying to squeeze lemon juice out of a lime. You can get close to the taste, but it will never be the same.”

Elijah is the follow-up to Blake’s 2021 album, The Neon Aeon. The 10-track project included features from Keyshia Cole (“Bad Liar – Remix”), Tamar Braxton, Trinidad James (“Dreams”), Durand Bernarr, Muni Long, D Smoke, Rome Flynn and BOPPAPI.
