Utah Hockey Club announces preseason schedule

SALT LAKE CITY – The first games for the Utah Hockey Club are coming up.

The Salt Lake City-based NHL team, playing for the first consecutive year, announced its preseason schedule Thursday, which includes two games in Utah and six more out of state.

On Sunday, September 22, Utah will play its first game in franchise history when it faces the St. Louis Blues in a preseason game in Des Moines, Iowa.

Utah’s first home game – and only preseason game at the Delta Center – is the next day against the Los Angeles Kings.

This game replaces the previously scheduled Frozen Fury, which was played between the Kings and the Vegas Golden Knights. Those who owned Frozen Fury tickets will have the opportunity to purchase a limited number of tickets for the Utah preseason game before they are released to the general public.

Utah will then play away against the Golden Knights, Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks.

The hockey club’s preseason schedule ends on October 5 in Utah against the Avalanche at the Maverik Center. A team spokesman said the game will be played at the West Valley City Arena because the Delta Center already has another date.
