Taylor Swift’s weather report prepares Welsh fans for Eras tour

Thanks to an intrepid weather reporter, Welsh Swifties were given the best possible weather forecast ahead of Taylor Swift’s Eras tour concert in Cardiff.

BBC Wales’ Sabrina Lee delighted her fans on Monday (June 17) – a day before the pop star’s concert at the Principality Stadium – when she sprinkled dozens of Swift song titles into her show. “Is the Taylor Swift concert going to be a ‘love story’ or is the ‘Cruel Summer’ going to continue?” she began, dressed in a glittery dress and pink eyeshadow in the style of the singer. Lover Epoch.

“Last week, it felt like we had ‘gone back to December’ in the Arctic air mass,” Lee continued. “‘Don’t blame me!’ But since then ‘everything has changed.’ ‘Blank spot’ on the map ‘means’ ‘glorious’ sunshine. High clouds create ‘lavender haze.'”

“The wind is not too strong and the highs are between 15 and 22 degrees Celsius,” she joked, referring to the Celsius temperatures. “It should be the best day in the stadium and you should stay dry. But even if a shower does come, I’m sure you’ll be fearless and just shake it off. Call it what you want, but I’d say the high pressure system is the mastermind, which means we’re over the hill when it comes to treacherous conditions.”

“After your ‘Wildest Dreams’ concert, there was no ‘midnight rain’ – just a ‘gentle’ breeze,” Lee concluded. “When you think about ‘style,’ you definitely have to think about a ‘cardigan’ when the weather gets cooler.”

At press time, Swift is already on stage performing her only Eras show in Wales – no doubt accompanied by thousands of fans who, thanks to Lee, are well prepared for the local weather. In a few days, the 14-time Grammy winner will spend three nights at London’s Wembley Stadium before touring Dublin and Amsterdam.

She had previously settled in Liverpool, where she kicked off the 100th show of her worldwide tour. “We played our 100th show on the Eras Tour (which feels really crazy because this show feels new to me every time we play it),” Swift wrote on Instagram afterwards. “This was the adventure of a lifetime, thanks to you.”
