Green Lantern Kissing Star Sapphire DC

Green Lantern’s on/off relationship with Carol Ferris seemed to be over for good when Hal returned to Earth after leaving the Corps. Carol had moved on and began dating a man named Nathan. Hal tried to rekindle their relationship, but Carol insisted that she had moved on. However, Carol couldn’t stop thinking about Hal and the numerous moments they had shared together over the years. Carol tried to bury those memories with an impromptu wedding in Las Vegas. But before she could tie the knot, Carol was reminded of her love for Green Lantern by a Star Sapphire Power Ring that appeared to her.

Although it brought a little drama into the matter, Green Lantern Run made the relationship between Hal and Carol a big part of the narrative. From the moment he saw Carol again, the hero tried to win Carol back and let her know how much she meant to him. Carol had, of course, been hurt too many times by Hal’s impulsiveness. But deep down, she loves the miracle in her life when she is with Hal. These two may have had their differences over the years. But in the end Green Lantern and Star Sapphire can’t imagine themselves with anyone else.

An exciting new era for Green Lantern and Star Sapphire

While this isn’t the first time the two have confessed their feelings for each other, it might be the kick in the butt that Hal needs to finally commit to Carol for real. Other heroes have managed to balance their work and love lives, so there’s no reason why Green Lantern can’t make it work with Carol. Not to mention, things might be a lot easier for the two of them if Carol is back in the game as Star Sapphire and they can fly into space together. Hopefully this confession will give Green Lantern the stable love life that he and Carol deserve.

Green Lantern #12 is now available from DC Comics.
