BLEACH: THOUSAND YEARS BLOOD WAR, PART 3

It was an exciting weekend for bleaching Fans at Anime Expo 2024. We not only got the announcement of a new bleaching video game, but those who attended the event also received an update on the third part of the Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Anime-Anime.

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Part 3 – The Conflict will be released later this year and will premiere in Japan in October 2024. Unfortunately, we don’t have a worldwide premiere date yet.

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War is of course based on the Bleach manga series by Tite Kubo and is a direct sequel to the bleaching Anime series. It is an adaptation of the last story arc of the manga, the “Thousand Year Blood War”. The conflict is the third part of a planned four-part course.

The first part, The Blood War, premiered in Japan in October 2022 and ran for 13 episodes until it ended in December of the same year. The second part, The separationwas broadcast in Japan from July to September 2023 and also included 13 episodes.

Both seasons of the series are available to stream on Hulu in the US, courtesy of VIZ Media. The episodes are available with English subtitles and dubs. The English dub includes returning cast members Johnny Yong Bosch as Ichigo Kurosaki, Michelle Ruff as Rukia Kuchiki, and more.

Was this all just a coincidence or was it inevitable?

Ichigo Kurosaki gained the powers of a Soul Reaper through a chance encounter. As a replacement Soul Reaper, Ichigo became caught up in the turmoil of Soul Society, a place where deceased souls gather. But with the help of his friends, Ichigo overcame every challenge and became even stronger.

When new Soul Reapers and a new enemy appear in his hometown of Karakura, Ichigo jumps back onto the battlefield with his Zanpakuto to help those in need. Meanwhile, the Soul Society observes a sudden increase in the number of Hollows destroyed in the living world. They also receive separate reports of residents of the Rukon District disappearing. Finally, the Seireitei, home of the Soul Reapers, is attacked by a group calling themselves the Wandenreich.

Under the leadership of Yhwach, the father of all Quincies, the Wandenreich declares war on the Soul Reapers with the following message: “In five days, the Soul Society will be destroyed by the Wandenreich.”

The history and truth that the Soul Reapers kept hidden for a thousand years are finally brought to light.

Everything must come to an end – and Ichigo Kurosaki’s final battle begins!

In addition to the premiere date, Viz Media has posted a video online featuring commentary from the production team as well as our first key visual for the new course.

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War The series is directed by Tomohisa Taguchi at Studio Pierrot. Taguchi also wrote the script for the series, Masashi Kudo designed the characters and Shiro Sagisu composed the music.
