A Republican congressman from Michigan was arrested Thursday on unspecified charges.
The Detroit News reported that Republican state Rep. Neil Friske was arrested by Lansing Police officers.
A Lansing police spokesman confirmed the arrest to The Detroit NewsHowever, no further details about the arrest were disclosed.
Newsweek has emailed Lansing Police seeking comment.
Jordan Gulkis, police department spokesman, said The Detroit News that the charges against Friske are currently being reviewed by officials from the Ingham County District Attorney’s Office.
Gulkis also said The Detroit News that Friske was arrested on a street near Lansing’s south side. The newspaper reported that public records show Friske owns property on the street where the arrest took place.
