Melges 24 European Sailing Series 2024 – Triple victory for Razjaren crowns the second day in Riva del Garda • Live Sail Die

The second day of the sixth event of the 2024 Melges 24 European Sailing Series, Act 2 of the Italian Melges 24 Tour and Italian Championship, came to life with exciting racing led by Fraglia Vela Riva. The standout competitor was Ante Cesics Razjaren (1-1-1 today), who scored three points and took the lead in the provisional rankings, albeit tied on points with early leader Luka Sangulins Panjic (2-2-9).

In the double-digit Ora winds typical of Lake Garda, the enormous competitiveness of the Croatian Melges 24 class was clearly evident and established itself as a benchmark for all Melges 24 competitors.

With two races remaining, Akos Csolto’s Chinook (4-3-4) is third overall, proving his leadership in the highly competitive Corinthian fleet. Michael Tarabochia’s White Room (5-4-8), piloted by his son Luis, and Sergio Caramel’s Arkanoé (7-9-3) are also excelling in the Corinthian division, ranking second and third respectively in the non-professional crew rankings.

The final day of racing begins at 12:00 with the two remaining races to complete the eight-race program (no starts after 14:30).

The event will conclude with an awards ceremony during which Luca Ferron, a marine artist known for his “sail” creations, will present one of his works to the overall winner.
