Weather expert reveals which flight you should never book in summer

A WEATHER expert has revealed which flights you should definitely not book in the summer, as there is a risk of cancellation.

Meteorologist Chris Bianchi advises travelers not to book afternoon or evening flights during the summer months in the United States.

The reason for this is the increased risk of thunderstorms during these periods.

Mr. Bianchi, a meteorologist at NBC affiliate 9News in Denver, said: “Never book a flight in the afternoon or especially at night during the summer months in the United States.”

“The chances of a thunderstorm occurring in the afternoon or evening somewhere in the United States are pretty high during the summer months… If you get caught in a thunderstorm in the wrong place and it affects your flight, it could mean utter chaos for you.”

And when the expert made the mistake of breaking his own rule, he found himself stranded at New York’s LaGuardia Airport in the early hours of the morning.

The TikTok star also encouraged travelers to use flight radar apps like FlightAware and Flightradar24 to track their incoming flight.

He added: “Let’s say you are flying from New York to Miami and your flight is coming from Chicago or Minneapolis, check the weather in those places.

“Because if there’s such bad weather in these places, there’s a pretty good chance that your flight will be affected.”

I stayed in a hotel with one of the “best views in the world” – and it only cost £32 per person

The expert also recommended booking a replacement flight to be on the safe side.

He said, “Otherwise, folks, you’ll end up like me: some guy making a TikTok at 1:45 a.m. in a deserted Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport, patiently waiting for my 4 a.m. flight back home to Denver.”

eShores travel advisors have shared their top tips for passengers to avoid having their passport rejected at the airport and to travel as planned this summer.

First, they advise against buying new souvenir stamps that could cause problems on subsequent trips.

Some destinations offer new types of passport stamps, but these may impact future travel, so it is best to avoid them.

These stamps are not officially recognized and may be considered as an alteration or illegibility, which may lead to rejection of a passport.

Water damage is also a major problem for travelers.

Passports with significant water damage are often considered unsuitable for travel, especially if the information has been obscured or the lamination is beginning to peel off.
