Charlie Simpson releases a new EP after his victory at The Masked Singer

Charlie Simpson has released a new EP with songs he sang on “The Masked Singer.”

The Busted and Fightstar frontman was crowned the winner of ITV’s reality singing competition on Saturday night (18.02.23) after performing dressed as Rhino, and is now making the covers available to stream.

After his win on the show, Charlie announced on Instagram: “I am overwhelmed by all the support! So I decided to release some songs I sang on the show as an EP called ‘KIFARU’, which is Swahili for rhino.”

“I hope you like it. All the best.”

“KIFARU” includes his original song “I See You” as well as Charlie’s versions of “Before You Go” by Lewis Capaldi, “Use Somebody” by Kings of Leon and “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol.

Speaking about his experience on the program, Charlie said: “I was terrified the whole time. What I was most afraid of was remembering the lyrics. I often forget the lyrics to my own songs on stage!”

Charlie also admitted that he was pessimistic about his chances of winning the show at the start of the competition.

Nevertheless, he was determined to enjoy the program, regardless of the outcome.

When asked by presenter Joel Dommett if he thought he would win the series, the pop star replied: “No, I just thought, ‘Remember the lyrics and have fun.'”

At the beginning of the show, Natalie Appleton was revealed to be Fawn.

The 49-year-old pop star was the first finalist to have her masquerade lifted after receiving the fewest votes from the audience.

After her elimination was confirmed, Natalie, best known as a member of British girl group All Saints, said: “I loved fooling you guys – it was such a thrill!”

Meanwhile, Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson was later revealed to be Phoenix.

The judges were stunned when 45-year-old Ricky took off his mask – especially Rita Ora, as she had previously worked with him on The Voice UK.

Rita, 32, who coached the “I Predict A Riot” hitmaker on “The Voice” in 2015, said: “Oh my God, we did a whole show together!”
