Glendale Woman’s Club hosts candidate forum

The GFWC Glendale Woman’s Club will host a candidate forum for all four candidates for Glendale City Council, who are in tough competition, on Tuesday, July 16, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Glendale Woman’s Club offices, 7032 N. 56th Ave.

Lupe Conchas is running against incumbent Vice Mayor Ian Hugh in the Cactus District, while newcomers Lupe Encinas and Dianna Guzman are competing for the Yucca District seat.

The public is invited to attend the forum and doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Questions from the public will be accepted if sent to the GFWC Glendale Woman’s Club by July 18.

The ballots were sent to citizens on July 3. Election day is Tuesday, July 30.

  • Glendale Christian Church, 9661 N. 59th Ave.
  • Glendale Elementary School District Office, 7301 N. 58th Ave.
  • Washington Elementary School District Office, 4650 W. Sweetwater Ave.
  • West MEC Central Campus, 6997 N. Glen Harbor Blvd.
  • Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 23121 N. 67th Ave.
  • Community of Christ, 5036 W. Paradise Lane.
  • Dove of the Desert United Methodist Church, 7201 W. Beardsley Road.
  • First Baptist Church, 7233 N. 75th Ave.
  • St. John’s Lutheran Church, 7205 N. 51st Ave.
  • Vineyard Church of Northwest Phoenix, 6250 W. Peoria Ave.

Ballots can be dropped off at the Glendale Civic Center, 5752 W. Glenn Drive, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays in July and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Election Day.
