Megan Thee Stallion had to set boundaries when she became famous – Music News

Megan Thee Stallion had to set limits on how much she wanted to reveal about herself after she became famous.

As her fame grew, the “Hot Girl Summer” star realized that to protect her mental health, she could share less of herself with her fans.

“In my early days as a rising star, it was definitely easier to be myself because I didn’t really understand what it meant to be famous,” she told L’Officiel USA. “I didn’t understand that you shouldn’t give everything of yourself all the time. I didn’t understand boundaries. I had no limits. I just lived. And as I continued to grow, I understood: OK, you don’t need all of this all the time. I could still be myself, but I have to have a certain level of respect for myself.”

The Savage rapper also said that she’s trying to stop worrying so much about what the public thinks of her and accept that she can never please everyone.

“I don’t really care who hates me. I should focus on the love I get,” she explained. “That’s what I want to do better now. It’s not going to be great all the time. If I want to be here to hear the cheers, I have to be here to hear the boos.”

“You want to be liked by everyone. You want to be the baddest, you want to be the best, but you want to do it the right way. I had to learn that there is no right way. Whoever you are, be that.”

Megan released her self-titled studio album earlier this month.
