Taylor Swift subtly proved Travis Kelce was in the audience in Amsterdam before she revealed it

Taylor Swift made another subtle nod to Travis Kelce during her show in Amsterdam on Friday (July 5) before surprising her fans with his performance. Swift performed at the Johan Cruijff Arena last night, where fans noticed her hinting that the NFL star was in the audience.

One of her references was changing the lyrics to “Karma.” The original lyrics of the song are “Karma is the guy on the screen/Who comes right home to me.” However, she changed them to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs/Who comes right home to me,” referring to Kelce’s NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs. She had changed the lyrics a few times before, but with the added references to Kelce, fans noticed. The sweet moment was captured in a fan video.

Another subtle dig at a possible Kelce appearance is her doing his archery pose, which he strikes when he enters the stadium on game day. In fan footage, she can be seen doing the move while singing her song “The Archer” – pretty fitting, right? It’s also not the first time the pop star has struck her boyfriend’s archery pose on screen. The last time she did so was during her second tour stop in Dublin last month, where she did her fake bow throw during her performance of “Midnight Rain.”

Kelce talked about why he strikes his signature pose before every game.

“I always wanted to do something when I ran out of the tunnel,” Kelce said on an October 2023 episode of his podcast “New Heights” with his older brother Jason Kelce. “I was like, ‘Man, you know what really motivated me?’ Always dreaming big (and) always reaching for the stars, so I’m just out there reaching for the stars, baby.”

In another fan video, Kelce is seen leaving the crowd towards the end of the show and going backstage to meet her.

Travis Kelce remembers the Golden Rule on stage with Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift on the concert stage

Last month, Kelce wasn’t just in the audience. He was onstage at Swift’s concert at Wembley Stadium, making a surprise appearance on her song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Dressed in a tuxedo and top hat, the NFL player literally swept Swift off her feet and immediately carried her along, sending the moment viral on social media.

In the last episode of his podcast, he told his audience that he has a rule when he is on stage with her.

“The only thing I told myself was, ‘Don’t drop the baby,'” he explained to his brother Jason Kelce on the July 3 episode of the “New Heights” podcast, referring to Swift. “‘Don’t drop Taylor when you go to that damn couch.'”
