WPL bus trip to the National Book Festival

The Wyomissing Public Library invites local residents to take a one-day bus trip to the National Book Festival in Washington, DC.

The Library of Congress 2024 National Book Festival will be held on Saturday, August 24, in Washington, DC. The free event, which is open to the public, is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

The round-trip bus fare is $75 per person; WPL Association members receive a $10 discount. The 50-seat bus leaves Wyomissing at 6:30 a.m. and arrives at the Convention Center around 9:45 a.m. The bus leaves Washington at 5:30 p.m. and arrives back in Wyomissing around 9 p.m. Meals are not included in the ticket price.

Reservations close on Saturday, July 20. Payment should be made by cash, check, or online at www.wyopublib.org.

Among the authors appearing at the festival is Tomi Adeyemi, author of the trilogy Legacy of Orisha, David Baldacci, comic book writer, Vera Brosgol, Sandra Cisneros, opera singer and art activist, Renee Fleming, Erik Larson, Doris Kearns Goodwin, James McBride and many, many more.
