Paris Diamond League: Kishore Jena and Avinash Sable in action

The eighth event of the 2024 Diamond League is scheduled to take place on July 7, 2024, at the Charléty Stadium in Paris, France. Notable athletes participating include Kishore Jena and Avinash Sable, both of whom have qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

In the men’s javelin, Kishore Jena faces tough competition from Anderson Peters from Grenada, Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic, Julian Weber from Germany and Arshad Nadeem from Pakistan. Neeraj Chopra is skipping the competition to prepare for the Olympic Games.

Avinash Sable will be aiming for a strong performance in the men’s 3000m steeplechase, competing against a field of 17 runners that includes Simon Kiprop Koech and Abraham Kibiwot of Kenya, Ryuji Miura of Japan and Daniel Arce of Spain.

The men’s pole vault competition will feature Swedish sensation Armand Duplantis, who recently set a new world record of 6.24 metres.

In addition, five Olympic champions, six world champions and twelve reigning European champions will take part in the event.
