Sharing the picture, Kangana wrote, “Many soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation were decorated yesterday. People are moved to tears seeing the very young, petite and exceptionally beautiful widow of Officer Anshuman Singh of Purvanchal.”

“She is still hopelessly in love with her husband and says tearfully that she will die an agonizing death with brass in her chest. Her clamps are stabs in my heart. Love is not easy. The paradox is that there is nothing more cruel than love,” she concluded.

Captain Anshuman Singh honored

On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu awarded the Kirti Chakra to Captain Anshuman Singh (posthumously) for his brave act in saving the life of a comrade during a fire. Captain Anshuman Singh, a doctor of the Army Medical Corps, 26th Battalion, Punjab Regiment, was awarded for his “extraordinary bravery and determination in rescuing many people during a major fire”. Kirti Chakra is India’s second highest peacetime gallantry award.

In July 2023, a short circuit sparked a fire at an Indian Army ammunition depot in Siachen at around 3 am. Captain Anushman Singh bravely rescued people trapped in a fiberglass hut near the dumping site when it started blaze. He also tried to rescue essential medicines from a nearby medical examination bunker that was threatened by the fire. Tragically, he suffered severe burns in the process and died soon after.
