Yvette Nicole Brown talks about her working relationship with her fiancé

Yvette Nicole Brown is all about love. On her social media, she shares unfiltered thoughts on social and political issues in the name of loving equality for her fellow Americans.

Throughout her career, she has publicly spoken only positively about her co-stars on the popular sitcom Community, especially Donald Glover. In December 2023, that love returned to Brown’s personal life when she announced her engagement to actor Anthony Davis.

At the 2024 BET Awards, Brown and Davis talked about BET+’s “The Family Business New Orleans” and their relationship.

What’s going on with you at the moment?

Yvette Nicole Brown: I’m in the No. 1 movie in America. I’m in from the inside to the outside. This is the third week it’s been at number one. $1 billion worldwide. So I’m in. We’re both in Family Business New Orleans too.

It comes out in the fall and we’ll both have roles in it… This is my fiancé, Anthony.

Anthony Davis: How are you? I play Deputy Brown in Family Business New Orleans.

What is the dynamic of working with your fiancé?

YNB: It’s funny. I think we only have one scene together out of all the scenes we do. It’s nice to have him on set. We can hang out in each other’s trailers. I can check and make sure his uniform looks good before he goes out. We can have lunch together. It’s pretty cool.

Why do you have to give people flowers?

YNB: Because what good is it if they have achieved the fame? We are here, right now. Let people know you love and like them.
