Kill Public Review: Viewers praise “banger of an action film” produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions

Kill, starring Lakshya, Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala, released in cinemas across India on July 5. It is the first time that Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has produced an action film full of blood and violence.

The Bollywood action thriller directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat was well received by the audience.

Calling it a “hidden gem of Indian cinema,” one user wrote, “This thrilling, action-packed film offers an intense and gripping experience that unfortunately seems to have flown under the radar due to minimal marketing efforts. Unlike some of its overrated counterparts in the industry, this film proves that substance can triumph over style.”

“The film doesn’t take long to establish characters that are so well-developed and feel very real. The claustrophobic action is so intense it’s stomach-turning (literally), considering the film takes place almost entirely in the aisle of a moving train,” wrote another.

“Indian films are not exactly known for fast action sequences like Bruce Lee, and we don’t have gory films as a sub-genre of horror either. Kill ticks both boxes. The gore is definitely not as extreme as in some Saw films, but there is gore. Beautifully executed in a span of 1 hour and 45 minutes,” said another.

“Wonderful film and incredible action sequences. I am surprised there was so little to no marketing for this film when it deserves much more films than Salaar and Saaho! No slow motion shots, no over the top melodrama and we feel as much for the bandits as we do for the train passengers!” wrote another.

“A hard-hitting action film from start to finish that never lets up for a second. It takes a simple premise and executes it perfectly. Brutally violent, exceptionally directed film with an outstanding performance by Lakshya,” reacted another.

“Similar nonstop action to John Wick, but the fights are even more brutal and ruthless, with a revenge story that becomes deeply personal thanks to the best villain of all time (Raghav Juyal),” came from an overseas viewer.

Kill Box Office Collection Day 2

According to media reports, the film – co-produced by Sikhya Entertainment and Lionsgate Movies – was made with less than 20 crore. On the day of its release, it collected 1.25 crore, according to Sacnilk.
