Full list of 160 movies and series that will not be available on Netflix’s promotional tier in July 2024

If you’re looking to subscribe or upgrade to Netflix’s promotional offering in the US, keep in mind that some titles are locked due to licensing agreements. Below is a list of titles you won’t be able to stream through Netflix’s promotional offering starting July 2024.

Netflix’s promotional offering, launched in November 2022, had some drawbacks. The biggest was that many big titles, including Netflix originals, were unavailable or blocked.

When the ad tier was first introduced, 5.1% of titles were unavailable (326 out of 6,324 available titles). A few months later, in February 2023, that number rose to 5.4% of the library (348 out of 6,444 available titles). As of February 7, 2024, only 175 titles were unavailable in Netflix’s U.S. library, a 50% year-over-year decrease, and in July 2024, that number was just 160 unavailable titles (2.2%).

House of Cards is not available on the Netflix commercial tier.

Who is still holding back? The two main ones, just like last year, are Universal and Sony. In Universal’s case, it’s their TV productions, which are mostly their huge library of DreamWorks TV shows that are exclusive to Netflix. In Sony’s case, it’s their films that are unavailable, which include their first releases coming to Netflix after their theatrical release or from their huge back catalog.

Netflix UK titles are not available on the advertising level

And finally, how do Netflix US’s unavailable titles compare to those in other countries? When it comes to Netflix UK, the picture looks even rosier for Netflix. Only 55 titles are unavailable on Netflix’s promotional tier in the UK. Most of these are the aforementioned Netflix original titles from Universal Television (whether live-action or DreamWorks) and a few other shows. These 55 titles make up 0.7% of Netflix UK’s 8,247-title library.

Other notable titles not available on Netflix UK’s promotional tier include Always sunny in Philadelphia, The homeland, And Ash vs Evil Dead.
