People stunned after finding out Cascada singer’s identity

We all know the absolute smashes that Cascada released back in the day, but fans of the group from the early 00s were stunned to learn where their lead singer came from – and called it another “Mandela effect.”

Whether during a spontaneous workout class or with mom and dad when the sun comes out, I think we can all agree that Cascada’s dance hits are still a hit today.

The group’s 2005 Eurodance song “Everytime We Touch” landed in the top 10 of the US Hot 100 and at number two on the UK Singles Chart, but that’s not all – the equally catchy “Evacuate The Dancefloor” also seemed to usher in the dance-pop era of the 2010s.

Cascada, which means “waterfall” in Spanish, was formed in Germany in 2004 and consists of two DJs and a lead singer who many people thought were all from continental Europe.

However, following the Capital FM Summertime Ball on Sunday (June 16), a presenter managed to get an interview with the group’s lead singer, Natalie Horler.

The interview with Horler, a feisty personality, was posted in full on TikTok, where it has garnered over 124,000 views at the time of writing.

Immediately after her performance on stage, the viral clip begins with the artist saying how great it was to perform with DJ Jax Jones at Wembley and that she is clearly enjoying her experience.

But after just a few seconds, something became clear that shocked not only the audience but also the interviewer.

She revealed to Horler: “I had no idea you were English, I thought you were American!”

As the lead singer began to speak, a strong British accent was clearly audible – it turns out that Natalie was born in West Germany in 1981 to British parents and therefore has dual citizenship. However, she admitted that many believe she is exclusively German because she lives there.

“My mum is from Romford, Essex and my dad is from Southampton!” the star shouted before bursting into hysterical laughter.

When asked what she liked most about being British, she replied that it was “the jokes and the relaxed atmosphere” in the UK, and gave the example that people here apologize if they bump into you.

Horler also admitted that she stocks up on polo shirts on her tours of the UK as they don’t sell out in Germany – one of the things she misses most about home.

Viewers, however, were shocked by this revelation and flocked to share their surprise in the comments.

One user commented: “What?? I always thought she was German, even Wikipedia thinks she’s German!”

Another said: “Why did I think she was Swedish or something, this feels like a Mandela effect”

A third said: “I thought she was German, she also represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest.”

Another user posted: “She is so real. She could literally be someone you meet in the pub and strike up a conversation with because she is so nice.”

So there you have it – glass is broken and “Everytime We Touch” will never sound the same again.
