Taylor Swift fans warned of train disruption at Wembley

Taylor Swift fans were warned of train cancellations ahead of her Wembley concerts this weekend.

London is one of more than 50 cities on their 21-month Eras world tour and will feature eight performances in June and August in front of almost 700,000 people.

Chiltern Railways will make additional stops at Wembley Stadium on Friday at the start of a three-day journey, but will not stop there at all on Saturday and Sunday.

The company apologised for the “inconvenience” and blamed planned construction work between Birmingham New Street and London Euston.

There are two alternative stops within walking distance of the 90,000-seat stadium.

Wembley Park is served by the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines of the London Underground and is approximately 0.5 miles (0.8 km) from the concert venue.

Wembley Central is 1 mile (1.6 km) away, about a 20-minute walk, and is on the Bakerloo Tube line and the London Overground, which runs between Watford Junction and London Euston.

The London bus network also offers many connections to Wembley, some of which stop close to the stadium.

Meanwhile, fans travelling to London via Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire could also face problems on Sunday.

Due to construction work, there will be no East Midlands or Thameslink train services to London St. Pancras on 23 June.

Passengers can use replacement buses from all stations between London and Bedford, except Kentish Town.

There are also rail replacement buses to Hitchin, connecting people to the Great Northern route to Kings Cross.

East Midlands Railway said: “If travelling to London from the north, you should take the rail replacement buses from Wellingborough to Milton Keynes Central to Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway trains to London Euston.”

Chiltern Railways said that Taylor Swift’s concert on Friday would see “an extended afternoon and evening timetable with additional stops at Wembley Stadium and some additional trains”.

It was further stated that it would not be possible to call Wembley Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.

“We apologize for the inconvenience,” they said.
