OPM singer Jed Madela was criticized by his former manager Annie T. Mercado, who claimed he made some “references” to her and her family in his new song “Wish U the Worst.” She called the singer “ungrateful” to the family who she said took care of him.

In a Facebook post, Mercado said she would not let Madela get away with this.

“So I mind my business and carry on with my life full of positivity, joy and peace and try to ignore annoying flies. But a friend sent me a song. Once and for all, I am putting an end to this. Since he went public with a song, I will no longer remain silent about this person. I am calling him by name, don’t worry. This song is about relationships, but we are not so stupid to think that it is not about us, the family who took good care of him and loved him since he entered Manila. So yes, I am not playing this ungrateful man’s game anymore,” she lamented.

Mercado claimed that the OPM singer had a tendency to play the “victim” because she asked him to make everything public.

“Wish U the Worst” (his new song) – this song says so much about the kind of person the singer really is. The track is full of negativity, hate and bitterness and he always plays the “victim” when he is the perpetrator. He has always played the “if the shoe fits” game. Sorry, I don’t want to play. I don’t hide behind songs and posts with double meanings,” she argued.

“So here it is: Jed Madela, don’t mock me with a song. Panindigan mo yan ha. Let’s go to the press and tell everyone. If you don’t want to, I’ll do it. I think people want to know the truth. Share it until it reaches him because he blocked us all,” the manager added.

In the comments section, Mercado revealed that he had managed Madela for 23 years and that her family loved the singer “unconditionally.”

“I managed him for 23 years and he is what he is now. That’s the business side. I’ve known him since I was born and my family and I loved him unconditionally, like a son and brother. And he chose not to show him respect. That’s my closure. End of the line,” she wrote.

Other Internet users also expressed their resentment towards Madela, with some citing financial problems.

Madela’s song “Wish U the Worst” was released on July 5 and includes the lines, “You still got those Bible verses on your profile. You want it all but you won’t pay the price. You make up these stories, you ruin the mood. No chance, no thanks, I’m not falling for your lies.”

Meanwhile, INQUIRER.net has asked Madela for his reaction to Mercado’s post, but has not yet received a response.
