Outlook on the Jordan Love Dynasty

2023 was a special year for love

Jordan Love’s dynasty prospects in 2024 should have fantasy football fans screaming with excitement. Following in the footsteps of legends like Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers is no easy feat. Love had plenty of doubters and he proved them wrong from week one until the Green Bay Packers were knocked out of the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers.

Most quarterbacks need time to find their rhythm, but Love started out strong, leading Matt LaFleur’s offense. In the first quarter of the season, Love threw nine touchdown passes and took care of the football, not allowing his opponents extra possessions. He averaged just under 269 yards per game in those first four games.

Love is a player who can be called “Mr. Consistent,” as the Packers’ playmaker threw passes for 225 yards and a touchdown in nearly every game. There were only three regular-season games in which Love had fewer than 200 yards in the air, and only two games with more interceptions than touchdowns.

Understanding the space

While Love is a talented quarterback, his receiver position is still a questionable one. Christian Watson played in just nine games last year and caught touchdowns in just four of them, but his absence led to the emergence of talented young players Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed. The wide receiver duo accounted for 33% of Love’s completions and 50% of his touchdowns.

Doubs, Reed and Watson have the potential to be one of the most underrated receiver trios in the league in 2024. If Watson stays healthy, the Packers’ opponents will have to prepare for three players who can hurt them at any time. Having those options increases Love’s value for 2024 and beyond. Jacobs is in Green Bay for the next four years, while the others are still on their rookie contracts.

Dealing with growing pains

The only area that worried Love in his first season with the Packers was the number of interceptions. While he averaged less than one per game, he threw two or three interceptions in three of the seven games he played. That’s not including the Divisional Round playoff game that is still a mystery.

Turnovers are a part of the game for any quarterback, especially a young one. Ball security will be at the top of Love’s priority list this year.

Love-hate relationship for Dynasty players

Whoever has Love on their team will have an advantage over their opponents in the quarterback department. Love’s potential is higher than the 2024 rookies, so there’s no need to worry if you couldn’t get Caleb Williams or Jayden Daniels.

KeepTradeCut has Love ranked as the 10th best quarterback in a dynasty league, behind Williams. However, this is largely a win-overage bias, so don’t put too much weight on that aspect of the rankings.

Those who don’t have Love…good luck trying to get him. It’ll take a lot of effort to get someone to trade him. And if they also have one of the three receivers (Doubs/Reed/Watson), the price will be even higher. Jordan Love is a must-have player in dynasty leagues in 2024 and beyond.
