Youth Violence Strike Force arrests three people and confiscates weapons in Roxbury

BOSTON – Boston police have arrested three men and seized two firearms following an incident in Roxbury on the night of July 4.

Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Jabbar White, 23, of Roslindale, Nikolas Laronde, 25, of Boston, and William Hudson, 25, of Hyde Park, on various weapons charges and outstanding warrants at around 10:21 p.m.

Patrol officers near Columbus Avenue and Cedar Street spotted three idling motor vehicles in the parking lot of Roxbury Community College.

As the patrol car entered the parking lot, a vehicle sped off in the direction of New Heath Street.

A strong smell of alcohol emanated from the remaining vehicle with four occupants and the officers noticed an open alcohol bottle and plastic cups inside.

The driver, with red, shiny eyes and the smell of alcohol, was unable to produce a driving license.

Police identified a resident who had an arrest warrant and arranged for the two individuals to be arrested.

During the search, officers found a firearm on White and another in the vehicle, as well as a headphone bag filled with ammunition.

The firearms seized were a stolen Smith & Wesson M&P Shield, loaded with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine, and a Taurus P92 with an empty fifteen-round magazine.

The case held fifteen 9 mm cartridges.

White and Laronde are charged with, among other things, illegal possession of weapons and illegal possession of ammunition.

White is also charged with receiving stolen goods, and Laronde is charged with illegal possession of a large feeding device.

There was an arrest warrant against Hudson for receiving stolen goods and possession of burglary tools.

The suspects are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
