Who won Nathan’s hot dog eating contest?

Patrick Bertoletti won the 2024 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. He ate 58 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. It was Bertoletti’s first title and the 39-year-old has been a successful major league eater for a decade.

Bertoletti holds 32 world records, including eating 47 slices of Big Apple pizza in 10 minutes, 29 waffles in 10 minutes and 2.3 kilograms of pickles in six minutes.

Why didn’t Joey Chestnut participate in 2024?

The 2024 competition took place without world record holder Joey Chestnut. He was disqualified from the event because he signed a partnership with Impossible Foods, a competitor of Nathan’s Hot Dogs. Chestnut had won 8 Nathan’s competitions in a row and holds the competition record with 76 hot dogs and buns in 2021.

Chestnut will face Takeru Kobayashi on Labor Day weekend in a match between two of the greatest competitive eaters of all time.

Miki Sudo wins the women’s competition again

In the women’s competition, Miki Sudo won Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest for the third year in a row and tenth time overall. She won every year from 2014 to 20. In 2024, she also broke the women’s record by eating an incredible 51 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
