HAMILTON (Atlantic) β€” A 39-year-old man has been charged with murder after an Atlantic County landlord was stabbed to death at an apartment building listed as a behavioral health treatment facility.

Police responded to several 911 calls reporting a stabbing around 5:19 p.m. Wednesday and rushed to 789 Park Road in the Mays Landing section of Hamilton Township.

Officers found 49-year-old Solomon Lonner of Lakewood with multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Michael Carney of Mays Landing was arrested at the residence and eventually charged with murder and weapons offenses.

According to the Atlantic County District Attorney’s Office, Carney was a renter of the Park Road apartment along with several other people.

The residence was listed online as β€œLake Lenape House,” among several mental health facilities operated by Lakewood-based Advance Behavioral.
