If

Kill

If “The 40 Fingers” is similarly successful, it could contribute to a new wave of Indian action crossover hits.

The consistently positive response to Kill is no small feat. In fact, the film one of the most successful films currently running in domestic cinemasbeating Hollywood blockbusters like A quiet place: day one (87%), Despicable Me 4 (53%), Inside Out 2 (90%) and Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 (47%). This could potentially lead to the film doing well at the domestic box office over Independence Day weekend, while also benefiting from hot weather across much of the U.S. that is driving revelers indoors.

If it spreads by word of mouth, Kill could follow in the footsteps of recent Indian action films, like 2022 RRR (95%) and 2023 Pathan (84%) and Jawan (89%), all of which were successful at the domestic box office and received high Rotten Tomatoes ratings. All three films are now among the top 6 highest-grossing Indian films of all time. In addition, RRR The box office success was followed by an Oscar for Best Original Song.

Pathan
And
Jawan
Both starred international superstar Shah Rukh Khan, but
RRR

If Kill is similarly successful, it could help usher in a new wave of Indian action crossover hits. The 2024 Bollywood film pushes the boundaries in terms of violence and gore for an Indian release, and its potential success could lead to other filmmakers following in its footsteps with more sophisticated entries in the action genre. By capturing the balletic violence of the John Wick These films, despite their domestic success, could continue to be successful and bring even more Indian feature films to the international stage.
