The ominous love triangle in “Below Deck Mediterranean” is damn messy

The big picture

  • In “Below Deck Mediterranean,” a love triangle has developed on the yacht Mustique between deckhand Joe Bradley and stewardesses Elena Dubaich and Bri Muller.
  • The tension between Elena and Bri has affected their working relationship and could jeopardize the charter guests’ experience.

All season long, fans have been fed a love triangle brewing aboard the mother yacht Mustique. Elena Dubaich And Bri Müller are targeting the same man. The sailor in question: Joe Bradley. Elena and Bri are not only colleagues, they also share a cabin. But to make matters worse, Ellie had already expressed her affection and crush on Joe to Bri. And yet, after spending an evening together with the crew, Bri denied this conversation and took matters into her own hands. Since Ellie believed that Bri had broken the girl code, she got them to talk about it in the hope that they could get over it, but it’s not that easy. Especially when you’re constantly watching each other 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Feelings have been hurt and emotions are getting in the way of a productive charter season.

Below Deck Mediterranean has been sailing the blue seas of the Mediterranean since 2016. In the ninth season Below Deck Med has anchored some of the most dramatic moments in Bravo show history. And often it has something to do with romance on board. With Aesha Scott Return as chief steward under Captain Sandy YawnThis current season has been a promising journey for the veterans of the ship, but the newbies have a bit of nervousness in the first season. Whether it’s secret affairs or a chef who isn’t up to par, Below Deck Med Season 9 keeps the tension high. The fateful love triangle hits the ship like an iceberg and things get more dramatic than anyone expected.

How the love triangle began

Like almost every season Under deckwhen a new crew arrives, they are more likely to scout out their potential showmance than explore the belly of the ship. And as in almost every season of Under deckAs options are limited, there will inevitably be friction. For this season of Below Deck Mediterraneanit wasn’t that the choice of men was limited, there were just two single ladies who just clearly had the same type. When it comes to deckhands Gael Cameronwho is in a long-distance relationship, and her forbidden romance with another deckhand Nathan Gallagerthat’s a conversation for another day. Since Joe Bradley is basically the only option for Bri and Ellie, Ellie, the second stewardess, wanted to establish her crush first and told her cabin mate that she would try to win him over when the time was right. But it was this evening together with the crew that brought some temptations to the surface. Elena didn’t approach the matter with enough enthusiasm, so Bri took the lead. Of course, Joe is not innocent in this situation, but he is not eager to be thrown right into the middle of this conflict.

Since the girls were in their feelings, as much as they didn’t want to be disturbed by this temporary argument, he did it. And there was no one there to mediate. Since head stew Aesha Scott was temporarily away from the ship to have her finger examined, The aftermath of the conversation led to the two women becoming rivals. Elena, the 2nd stewardess, feels that Bri is undermining her now that she is one rank below her. Bri, meanwhile, feels that Elena is holding a grudge against her because of the incident. Bri isn’t necessarily wrong! But while on the job, it’s better to keep personal issues at bay. Bri’s tears were seen by the wrong person. Bri, in her feelings, tells Captain Sandy about her worries without putting her in the middle of the situation where she absolutely doesn’t need to be. But like Captain Sandy, she will butt in. If only ever so slightly. But hey, she wants to know all the drama and gossip below deck. Bri will eventually relay their conversation to Aesha, who has returned excitedly with stitches. Bri has thrown her bedmate under the bus, claiming Ellie is on a power rush. Bri doesn’t get the response she wants from Aesha, so she’ll now relay it to Ellie herself to try and salvage the chaotic situation. Now Ellie will relay it her Frustration with Bri towards Aesha. Aesha knows she has to stay neutral, but she has become the monkey in the middle. As Aesha says in the confessional: “Don’t screw the crew if you can’t handle it emotionally.”

This situation has led to Bri not wanting to sleep in her and Ellie’s cabin, but rather in the crew’s mess and the boys’ cabin. And has put the boys in a situation on board that they would prefer to stay out of. Bri has now accused Ellie of belittling her by playing the victim card. She has created unnecessary tension. Oh, and Ellie has inadvertently brought Bri closer to Joe in the process. This is not going to end well for anyone. What is obvious, however, is that if there is anyone who can reduce the drama, it is Aesha. But is it her responsibility as a department head to interfere in personal issues like this? It’s not in the job description!

The stews have to clean up their mess

With the friction between Bri and Ellie affecting their working relationship and their ability to perform at their best, it is likely that the charter guests’ experiences could easily be affected. When these two women can barely look each other in the eye, how can they pretend that everything is fine while serving meals and refusing cabins? At the beginning of the season, Aesha set the women’s ranking based on her experience. In the past, there were several situations on Under deck where a decision of this magnitude affects working conditions. Up until this point, Ellie had been Bri’s mentor. Now Ellie holds it against her, while Bri uses it to question Ellie’s character. None of this would have happened if there hadn’t been a boy involved.

In the meantime, Joe is aware that this could significantly impact the working environment on the ship and could put him out of the running for any pursuer. That Joe is at least aware of how bad this love triangle can be is at least a positive. Often times, the middleman will take advantage of the situation to get the outcome he wants. But Joe obviously cares more about his career and job security than he will let a stupid shipside relationship ruin everything. It’s no secret that rumors about what goes on below deck on motor yachts spread like wildfire. With so many crew members now involved, it’s really not a good situation. Like mature adults, it’s up to the ladies to clean up their own mess after cleaning up after the guests.
