Indie pop singer and songwriter ROREY releases new dreamy pop single “Sleepwalking” » LIVING LIFE FEARLESS

Berlin Bedroom pop singer and songwriter ROREY has just released her latest single “Sleepwalking.” It’s a dreamy indie pop masterpiece with hazy vocals and melodic hooks that blur the lines between conscious and subconscious, inviting introspection and exploration.

ROREY admits: “Sleepwalking is my hymn to distance. I wanted to paint this vivid picture of me walking down the street and experiencing life in a way that makes absolutely no sense. I felt so delusional and absent at the time; (sleepwalking) through life in this almost dream-like state.”

ROREY draws inspiration for her lyrics from anything and everything. She even pulls her lyrics from text conversations. “My songwriting was my greatest confidant and my creative process my only respite from the uncertainty of life,” she admits. Although ROREY is the only musician in her family, her house was never quiet. Her early musical influences, attributed to her parents, were Santana, Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull.

In 2021, ROREY was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. During this time, she wrote six of the eight songs on her upcoming second EP, Dysphoria. Co-produced by longtime friend and collaborator Scott Effman, the collection of music reflects her cognitive dissonance as she navigates her mental health journey through haunting melodies, ethereal vocals, and swirls of hypnotic instrumentals.
