I can predict the story of Reacher Season 4 thanks to the surprising book choice of Season 3

With a little detective work, I think I can predict which book Amazon’s Gripper Season 4 will cover it. I had so much fun with the first season of the Amazon adaptation that I looked up some of Lee Child’s books. Gripper Season 1 adapted the first novel Killing Floorthat’s where I started too. Child’s work is a lurid mix of traditional detective novels and 80s action films, with Jack Reacher himself seeming like a cross between Jessica Fletcher’s deductive brain and Dolph Lundgren’s body.

Just like the Amazon series, I jump back and forth when it comes to the order of Child’s. Jack Reacher Novels. For example, I followed Killing Floor with Past tensethe 23rd book in the series. The advantage of Child’s works is that they can basically be read in any order, although there are some surprises for long-time readers. The upcoming Gripper season 3 will adapt novel seven, Convincer, where the titular avenger goes undercover for the DEA. Much of the story is a game of cat and mouse, where Reacher must react quickly to maintain his shaky cover.

Jack Reacher’s 19th novel would be the logical sequel to Persuader

Reacher does not Convincer Mission out of the goodness of his heart. Instead, he seeks revenge on a man named Quinn, whom he believes he killed ten years ago. The man had mutilated and murdered an army colleague named Kohl. Her death has haunted Jack ever since, and he believes this operation will lead him straight to Quinn. Gripper Books I have read so far Convincer is my favorite because Child takes a simple story and squeezes every drop of excitement out of it.

Kohl’s death and the impact it had on the title character make me think Gripper Season 4 will adapt personal Next up is the 19th book, in which the army asks Reacher for help in taking down a sniper who is targeting the French president. personal isn’t necessarily the highest rated novel, but it’s highly regarded by fans and I found it a compelling read. personal reveals that Kohl’s death still haunts Reacher, especially because his new partner Casey Nice reminds him of her.

The Amazon show is a bit more connected than Child’s books, as Finlay’s unexpected cameo during Gripper Season 2. personal is not a direct continuation of Convincerbut I felt that the memory of Kohl gave the 19th novel more weight and resonance. Therefore personal would be a good choice for season 4, as it covers some of the themes from Reacher’s third season focusing on a new story.

Fans should not expect One Shot to be re-adapted anytime soon

The controversy surrounding Tom Cruise’s casting as Jack Reacher in the 2012 film still rages in certain parts of the fanbase. Still, time has been kind to Christopher McQuarrie’s film, which felt like a modern take on the 1970s thrillers directed by the likes of Clint Eastwood or Charles Bronson. The film used Child’s ninth novel A shot as a source and I was thrilled by the Gripper Easter Egg of the second season, which describes the events of A shot happened off screen between the series.

personal is similar to A shot in different ways, with Reacher in both cases investigating a case involving a military sniper with whom he has a past. I highly doubt Gripper would ever adapt again A shot because that’s a hopeless situation. It would reignite the Cruise controversy if one compared his Jack Reacher with Ritchson’s version. Adjustment personal would let the showrunners make their version of A shot. They could even combine elements from the two stories and possibly A shot James Barr in Personal villain.

Most of the Gripper Books keep the character on American soil, but personal is an international trip where Reacher flies to both Paris and London during his hunt. I found the London chapters to be the highlight as they took Reacher completely out of his comfort zone. It refreshed Child’s formula and it would be smart for Gripper Season 4 to keep the audience on their toes. Another nice touch is that Reacher’s relationship with Casey is purely platonic.

It is more of a mentor/mentee relationship, with the two forming a strangely touching friendship. I doubt Reacher would have even seen Casey in a romantic sense, as she looks a lot like Kohl. Most Jack Reacher Novels include some kind of love story for the main character – Convincer included – but it is nice that personal you didn’t have to force it. I wouldn’t bet any money on it Gripper Season 4 Adaptation personal – but I wouldn’t advise anyone against this bet either.

Reacher was produced by Amazon Prime Video and adapts Lee Child’s Jack Reacher book series into a live-action film. The series follows veteran military police officer Jack Reacher as he uncovers a dangerous conspiracy in the fictional town of Margrave, Georgia. The title character, played by the outstanding Alan Ritchson, teams up with Officer Roscoe Conklin (Willa Fitzgerald) and Chief Detective Oscar Finlay (Malcolm Goodwin) to clear his name and save Margrave from crime and corruption.
