Securatech, a Farmington Hills-based company that provides technological security and surveillance services, has achieved gold-level Veteran-Friendly Employer status in the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) program in just two years, according to a press release.

Since its launch in 2013, the Veteran-Friendly Employer program has awarded more than 601 Michigan employers Bronze, Silver or Gold status for their efforts in recruiting, training and retaining veteran workers. The prestigious Gold designation has been given to only five percent of those companies. To be recognized as a Veteran-Friendly Employer with Gold status, employers must retain at least 75 percent of veterans hired in the past 12 months, implement internal veteran support networks and have a special onboarding and orientation process for veterans, among other requirements.

“Achieving Gold status as a Veteran Friendly Employer is a significant milestone for Securatech,” said Rudy Patros, CEO and President of Securatech. “This recognition underscores our commitment to supporting veterans by providing them with meaningful employment opportunities and fostering an inclusive workplace where their unique skills and experiences are valued and utilized. We are committed to ensuring that veterans can succeed and continue to serve our community with the same dedication they demonstrated during their military service.”

Of the just over 100 employees, 20 identify as veterans, and Securatech offers salary incentives of up to $4 more per hour to candidates with military experience. The company became a Veteran Connector in 2022 and continues to expand its veteran support services. In addition to a customized employee orientation for new employees who identify as veterans, Securatech is establishing a Veteran Employee Resource Group to support its veteran employees. “The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency is proud to recognize Securatech as our 31st Veteran Friendly Employer with Gold Status,” said MVAA Director Brian L. Love. “We joined the program at the Silver level in early 2022 and are impressed with Securatech’s commitment to supporting veterans in their workforce, achieving Gold status in just two years. It is critical to the success of Michigan’s workforce that our employers prioritize recruiting and retaining veterans because of their integrity, honesty, discipline and resilience.”
