Iommi is synonymous with heavy rock; his innovative, detuned, dark riffs are considered a blueprint for hundreds of bands that followed him. Anselmo says: “With a thick sound and crushing, bending riffs – riffs that blacken the inside of our memory banks with sacred knowledge – Tony “changed the boundaries of what was acceptable for the sound of a simple guitar.”

For the last two years, Tony works with renowned music photographers Ross Halfin to compile this luxurious 340-page photo book of his musical career; from the beginnings of BLACKSABBATH until the opening of the Birmingham Royal Black Sabbath Ballet in 2023. This suitably heavy work is a tribute to one of the most innovative guitarists in music and, as Ozzy states in his exclusive afterword: “If someone asked me who the leader of BLACKSABBATHit should be Tonyright? Of course we all contributed to it, but without Tony‘s riffs, we wouldn’t have stood a chance.”

The book is a compendium of carefully selected images from all eras of Tony‘s career, many of Ross HalfinThe book also includes exclusive written contributions from some of music’s leading talents and friends of Tony. These include Sir Brian May, James Hetfield And Philipp Anselmo. As Sir Brian May states in his introduction: “Ross Halfin took pictures of Tony in a variety of settings over the years, as you will see in this book. The images show a man with great power and presence, as befits a giant riff master.”

Iommi himself says: “I really appreciate all the work, Horse was involved, both as a photographer and as the editor of the book. These photos represent my career and the memories they conjure up remind me of what an amazing journey we have been on. So many times I looked down from the stage and there, in the middle of the mosh pit, was Horse fighting for the right shot. Cheers, Horsethe book is a testimony to our long friendship and the many formative moments of my life that you have captured.”
