Top line
Adele’s concerts at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas were the most expensive nationwide in the first half of the year, with fans paying an average of nearly $1,500 to see the British singer, according to data provided to Forbes by second-hand ticket seller SeatGeek. Taylor Swift’s return to the U.S. could shake up the list, however.

Key data
The average ticket price for Adele, who has been performing occasional “Weekends With Adele” at Caesars Palace since November 2022, was $1,462 on SeatGeek in the first half of the year, undercutting the second-place artist by more than $200.
Residency shows were heavily featured on SeatGeek’s list: Phish and U2’s shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas came in second and third with ticket prices of $1,228 and $831, respectively, and Billy Joel’s residency at Madison Square Garden came in ninth.
Chris Leyden, director of growth marketing at SeatGeek, told Forbes that the Las Vegas residencies trend is increasingly attractive to artists who know their fans are coming to them and to fans willing to travel to see a “bucket list” type event at a venue like the Sphere, where U2 and Phish have performed.

“The prices in Vegas are definitely significantly higher than what we would normally see if (artists) came to, say, the Prudential Center in New Jersey or the Ball Arena in Colorado,” Leyden said.

What you should pay attention to
The most in-demand concerts of the second half of the year. SeatGeek expects Adele’s performance to top the list, but predicts Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour will return to the U.S. in the fall and take the top spot. Other artists who will have in-demand performances from July to December include The Eagles, Olivia Rodrigo, Bruno Mars and Shakira.
tangent
Adele has briefly postponed her Las Vegas residency twice during its year-long run. In January 2022, a day before it was scheduled to begin, she announced that the residency was being postponed due to coronavirus cases among crew members, saying about half of the team had contracted COVID-19. The singer has also postponed some shows this year, announcing in February that she would pause her residency in March due to health concerns. Those shows were later rescheduled for October and November and will now be the final shows of the residency.
Big number
20%. That’s how many more concerts there were in the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year. Leyden, marketing growth director at SeatGeek, told Forbes he suspects the increase in concerts is a result of artists realizing the demand for live shows after the COVID-19 pandemic. “Maybe these aren’t the people who toured during the pandemic, but these are the people who saw this post-pandemic uptick and said, ‘I need to tour, too,'” Leyden said.
