Marvel’s Chris Evans and his wife Alba Baptista make their red carpet debut

Marvel’s Chris Evans and his wife Alba Baptista make their red carpet debut

“Captain America” star Chris Evans made his red carpet debut with his new wife Alba Baptista at this year’s Oscars.

The couple appeared in love at the Vanity Fair after-party last night (March 10) as they cozied up to each other for the camera. Evans wore a red suit to the event, while Baptista opted for a long black and white dress and an intricate diamond necklace.

Evans and Baptista tied the knot in two private ceremonies last September, one in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and the other in Baptista’s native Portugal.

When Evans spoke about his wedding at New York Comic-Con in October, he described the two ceremonies as “wonderful and beautiful” despite the stress of planning the events in two different countries.

“Planning a wedding is a lot of work. Those of you who are married know it takes a lot of energy,” he told his fans (via People).

Evans continued, “But now that we’ve got that behind us, we’re just enjoying life and getting ready for fall, which is my favorite time of year. Now we’re just relaxing, enjoying life and reflecting.”

Rumors that the couple were dating first emerged in 2022, with a source claiming at the time that the two had already been together for about a year at that point.

Baptista is best known for her role in the Netflix series Warrior Nun and for her appearance in the film Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris (2022) alongside Lesley Manville and Jason Isaacs.

Meanwhile, Evans has appeared in several films since his time as Captain America in the MCU, including roles in Knives Out and Lightyear.

He was most recently seen opposite Emily Blunt in the crime drama “Pain Hustlers” and opposite Ana de Armas in the romantic comedy “Ghosted.” However, after the film’s scathing reviews, he admitted that it “could have been better.”

He will next be seen in the romantic comedy “Materialists” alongside “The Last of Us” star Pedro Pascal.

The 96th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, were broadcast from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, with Live coverage on all ITV channels in the UK and ABC in the USA.
